Blog & Post Grading Rubric


A    Superior work. The student has gone well beyond the basic requirements of the assignment. The student has done more than the minimum number of posts.* The student has shown initiative by finding topics that were not assigned by the instructor. The student has added value to posts by, for example, writing more than 300 words, adding photos or videos or other graphic elements. The student's writing rises to a professional level, with correct grammar and punctuation at all times. The student has cited other sources with more than just one link.


B  — Above average work. The student has done at least the minimum number of blog posts.* But the student’s writing rises to professional level, with correct grammar and punctuation at all times. The student’s posts often are more than 300 words. The student includes at least one or two links and at least one visual element with each post.


C    Average work. The student has done the minimum number of posts.* The student’s posts are at least 300 words. The student has included a link with each post. The writing is not quite up to professional level, but it is clear that the student has worked on the blog beyond the times that we worked on them in class.


D    Below average work. The student has not done even the minimum number of posts.* The student has not taken care to include at least one link per post. The writing is not up to a professional level. It is not clear that the student did much with the blog outside of class.


F    Not acceptable work. The student has done few or no posts. It is obvious the student did not work on the blog outside of class. Or the student did no blog at all.

*Minimum number of posts = 6 at the mid-term and 12 at the final.
